Open Food Facts

Open Food Facts is a health app with an enormous database containing important information on various food products. It's a collaborative project, so the information is provided by a large community of volunteers (which can also include you, of course).

The way Open Food Facts works is simple: with the app's barcode reader, you can scan any food product package. From there, the app shows you nutritional information for that product: its additives, allergens, and more. It also includes an analysis of the nutritional quality of each product by ranking it from A to E, with A being the least processed and E the most processed. Open Food Facts even lets you compare similar foods to see which has fewer additives, less sugar, or better nutritional value overall.

If you scan a product and it's not already in the database, you can fill out a short questionnaire on the product to add it to the app.
